Highlights Photosynthetic Chlorella sorokinianamutants were generated by EMS mutagenesis. Increased biomass productivity was observed under low light and high light conditions.Genetic modification of C. sorokinianawith smaller antenna size can improve biomass. Strains with higher biomass may have higher lipid content.
